Who's Nomad Girl?

Hi there, I am 26 years old, I am originally from Colombia, and I love travelling, getting to know new cultures, making friends from all over the world, learning different languages,  and living new experiences. In the past 5 years I’ve lived in Ecuador, France, Singapore, and came back to Colombia; I’ve visited over 20 cities, and made tons of friends. Back in Colombia I live with my family, love having my childhood friends around, have a good job, and enjoy Colombian food (which I missed so much). However, believe it or not, I’m once again eager to move elsewhere. When I shared this with my best friend his response was: “Stop moving around so much, you should settle down, or else, you’ll become a Nomad Girl”. At the time I didn’t respond to his words, but after giving it some thought I realized he was right somehow. For Colombian standards and perhaps for many people, having done 2 masters, being 26 and having a job, means it’s time to settle down. Time to accept that it’s the moment to looking for a partner to build a family with, time to start saving to buy your own apartment and car, time to find an “ok job” where you apply what you studied, time to leave behind parties, adventures, student life, crazy ideas, and making mistakes.

Well, you know what? I don’t agree with this. My dad has always taught me that the most important thing is to be happy. To be honest, I still enjoy many of the things people have told me I’m too old for. So I’ve decided to start looking for the way to move out yet again. That’s why I said my friend was right, and looking back maybe I’m happier as a Nomad Girl, so I’ll give it a try once again!
